Dear Kinja

Only one booking on the weekend and nothing interesting happened in it, except that he looked very young so I asked to see proof of age and he cheerfully provided it saying he gets carded all the time.

I did get about 30 inquiries over the weekend, many of whom annoyingly wanted information that is right there in my ad, or asking where my premises are even though I do not offer an in call service. A handful of them said they'd get back to me about making a booking, the rest resulted in nothing thus far. A couple were blatant trolls, asking if I provided illegal services.

Some of these inquiries were from other workers, or their partners, agencies, pimps, etc. I mean they didn't identify themselves as such but it's a given that some workers check out others this way to see if they're competition for customers.

I also got two interesting phone calls from people who weren't clients.

One was a very young and perky sounding woman who said she was a "life coach for working ladies" and offered training courses in money management, communication skills, advertising and general organisation skills. I said no thank you.

The other was from an agency who are trying to recruit. I explained that I'm not interested in working for an agency but they were very persistent. They said they have a lot of clients and are very elite blah blah blah and when I asked if I could see a website they said they didn't have one yet. I asked about their Ts and Cs, what cut they got, what fines and penalties they imposed, what the management fee was, etc. Radio silence.

Anyway that was the weekend. Someone I've talked to about this has asked me what impact it's actually having on my life. In case anyone is interested this is the extent of the impact.

* I don't get much sleep some nights and the fatigue results in an occasional eyelid twitch

* A low grade UTI that's treatable with cranberry juice and over- the- counter medication

* I've suspended my blood donation. After I "retire" and have tested negative for everything for at least 12 months I will resume

* occasionally when someone says my work name I'll look around because I'm used to answering to it now

* My diet isn't great because I'll sometimes get takeaway or eat two minute noodles rather then get home and spend the time and bandwidth to cook a proper meal or even reheat something from the freezer. I do make sure to eat at least some fresh fruit and/or vegetables every day though even if it's just an apple or carrot as a snack.

* I don't eat some of the spicy strongly flavoured foods I like, because of the breath factor.

* I'm drinking less because (a) not socialising as much and (b) not having a glass of wine or a g and t at the end of the day as I might be having to drive somewhere as soon as I get home

* I'm having to moisturise because multiple showers and soaping and leg shaving etc is drying out my skin. I know lots of women moisturise daily as part of an extensive beauty regime but not me, until now.

* MONEY

I promise the next entry will be more interesting. I do have a booking tonight.
